Our Story

Binary Logic was founded in 1982 by educators who believed technology could transform learning. From the very beginning, our commitment has been to enrich student learning, support teachers, and help schools implement modern digital education practices.

Created by the same educator-entrepreneurs behind the MM Educational Group (established in 1974 and active in more than 110 countries), Binary Logic shares a long tradition of excellence in educational publishing. Over four decades, we have grown from pioneers in educational software to a global leader in PK–12 Computing, Computer Science, ICT, and AI Literacy.

Our early innovations in language-learning technology shaped entire generations of learners. Today, we help schools worldwide introduce Computing, AI, digital literacy, and emerging technologies through curriculum frameworks, textbooks, teacher professional development, and digital resources that are pedagogically sound and internationally aligned.

1982

Binary Logic is founded to bring educational technology into classrooms. The world’s longest-existing edtech company, continuously active and evolving for more than 40 years.

1986–1996

Euro-BELT, belt-mm and multimedia ELT series establish Binary Logic as a worldwide innovator in language-learning technology.

1997–2004

Master Your English Readers and the first interactive ELT CD-ROMs with MM Publications.

The Belt Study System becomes the first complete language lab solution covering all levels of English language learning.

2008–2013

BELT Online launches.

Digital Kids and Digital Teens introduce the first global K–12 Computing and ICT curriculum, published simultaneously in international English and Spanish for Latin America.

Binary Academy platform launches to support teachers and students with online resources.

2014–2016

Digital Kids and Digital Teens earn the ISTE Seal of Alignment​​​ for the first time (renewed in 2016 and 2018).

eSkills for K-12 education and ICT Skills for training centers, colleges and universities are published.

Digital Kids Can Code and Digital Kids Robotics series launch supporting a range of robotics kits and programming environments appropriate for the age groups.

Binary Academy begins a collaboration with the University of Piraeus on a Computing exam and certificate designed specifically for secondary students.

2017–2019

Serbian ICT resources are approved for state schools.

Digital Teens Can Code and Digital Teens Robotics series launch.

Montenegro state schools adopt the Digital Teens syllabus and bilingual (Montenegrin & Albanian) ICT resources for the subject of Technology.

Qatar adopts the national Computing standards framework​, which later becomes a UNESCO case study. Custom resources are developed in Arabic.

Binary Logic receives DQ Recognition for alignment with the Digital Intelligence Framework.

Ukrainian localized editions are released for public and private schools.

2020–2021

During COVID-19, millions of free ELT Skills and Binary Academy online accounts support remote learning worldwide.

Saudi Arabia adopts the Digital Skills and Digital Technology Framework for Grades 4–12.

ISTE Seal renewed for all Computing and ICT series.

2022

UNESCO featured Binary Logic as the only publisher in its global AI curricula report, highlighting our work on Qatar’s national Computing curriculum and Saudi Arabia’s state-school program.

Saudi Arabia introduces the Computer Science and Engineering Pathway.

Oman adopts a new Computing framework.

Binary Logic contributes to the IEEE 1484.20.2 Defining Competencies Standard.

2023

UNICEF supports the national distribution of Binary Logic’s Ukrainian Computing textbooks.

Georgian Digital Kids localized edition released.

ISTE Seal of Alignment renewed.

2024

Start of global strategic partnership with McGraw Hill to co-publish K–12 Computing, CS and AI Literacy in English.

Binary Logic joins the UN SDG Publishers Compact.

Partnership with HP Robots to develop multilingual robotics resources.

Contribution as a reviewer for the CSTA PK-12 Computer Science Standards (2026 revision).

2025

Launch of 32 McGraw Hill co-published titles including Level Up through Digital Discoveries, AP CS, Skills & Pathways, and Foundations.

Launch of 38 Level Up through Robotics & STEM ebooks for robotics and STEM covering all grades.

New Hour of AI classroom activities released, free for all students, supporting a global school initiative.

Collaboration on the global AILit AI Literacy Framework, led by the European Commission, OECD/PISA, Code.org, and TeachAI. Level Up through Digital Discoveries is already aligned with the upcoming AI literacy standards.

Indonesian Digital Kids edition released.

Digital Kids and Digital Teens Fourth Edition are being prepared based on a fully updated Computing and AI curriculum and rewritten learning and teaching resources. Available for translation, adaptation, or full localization in multiple languages.

ISTE Seal renewed again for Digital Kids, Digital Teens, eSkills and ICT Skills.

2026

Finalist for the BETT Awards 2026 for International Digital Curriculum (Level Up through Digital Discoveries).

Myanmar Digital Kids and Digital Teens localized editions released.

eSkills Third Edition fully revises our successful Computing series and adds Coding and AI Literacy. Available for translation, adaptation, or full localization in multiple languages.

Level Up through Digital Discoveries now includes Kindergarten-level resources, and Digital Kids Fourth Edition extends to PreK with First Steps for 4-year-old learners. Both align with the upcoming CSTA PK–12 Computer Science Standards for PreK–K.

Digital Kids Cuarta Edición en Español is now available. It spans 6 levels, from PreK to Grade 6.

Our collaboration with McGraw Hill expands with new two titles: Introduction to Digital Skills and Computer Applications and Introduction to Computer Programming with Python for middle or high school students.
