Exploring How AI Can Support the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Activity Overview
In this activity, students explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support or challenge the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will become familiar with the SDGs, then work in small groups to select one SDG and design their own conceptual AI-powered informative poster using Canva AI. Groups will share their ideas with the class. The session ends with a whole-class reflection: Is AI more of a tool for positive change or more of a risk? Each group considers the specific problem within the SDG, how AI could support a solution, what data would be needed, and what risks or ethical concerns might arise.
